IFI BISHOP DISOWNS ARRESTED 'ADDICT' PRIEST

Drug addicts are liars.
By: Central Luzon News Center | Nelson Bolos

This came when the Bishop of Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) declared that arrested “Aglipayan church priest" Randy Valdez is not a member of the IFI.

Valdez, along with 2 others (Camille Franilla and Mike Raven Quinto), were arrested last Saturday in a buy bust operation by this town’s police led by PSupt Joel Mendoza.

In an interview upon his arrest, Valdez, who he is a native of this town, claimed he is a priest of the Aglipayan church and is the “destined priest” of the IFI church in the municipality of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.

However, Bishop Dindo Ranojo, Diocesan Bishop of IFI Diocese of Tarlac, said, “Randy is not and has never been a member of IFI. Before I became a Bishop, I have worked in our national office and I did not encounter his name”.

“I do not even know if he is really a priest. He did not study at our schools”, added Ranojo.
The news on Valdez’s apprehension, “Priest, 2 others arrested for shabu”, trended in social media since it was posted here yesterday morning and many among IFI members commented negatively on his (Valdez) claim of being an IFI priest.

As of 10:23 PM today, the Valdez news has reached 79,155 views.
In a second interview this morning (August 9), Valdez admitted that he belongs to the Philippine Independent Catholic Church (PICC) and not with the IFI.

Ranojo also disclosed that Valdez belongs to one of the several “factions” of their church.
“Valdez is a member of the PICC. He does not belong to the mainstream (Aglipayan church). Their group (illegally) occupied some of our churches”, also said Ranojo who, as bishop, is the head of the IFI in the province of Tarlac.

The founding of the IFI dates back during the Filipino uprising against the Spanish rule. It was born when Filipino revolutionary priest Gregorio Aglipay, the acknowledged founder of the church, and some other Filipino priests, disassociated from Spanish-led catholic church then.

Hence, IFI was more commonly known as Aglipayan in deference to Fr. Gregorio Aglipay who is the church’s first Obispo Maximo (Supreme Bishop).

IFI was formally founded in 1902.

Pressed for comment, Valdez begged not to further “make an issue on his claim that he is an IFI priest but said, “huwag na po sanang palakihin pa ang issue, kasi matagal na po akong nag-resign sa IFI”.
On this issue, Ranojo said, “hindi totoong nagresign si Randy (Valdez) sa IFI dahil hindi namin siya naging member. IFI is a world-wide church with more than 6 million members and is recognized by the Council of World Churches. We have no priest involved in drugs”.

Mendoza also revealed that Valdez’s claim of being an Aglipayan priest was validated with Cayupo chief of police, PSInsp Abraham Atencio.

“Before we wrote it on our (police) report that Valdez is a priest of the Aglipayan church, we validated his allegation with the chief of police of Cuyapo. Atencio confirmed that he (Valdez) regularly officiates masses in their church and also said that he (Valdez) is peddling illegal drugs and uses the back of their church in his dealing of shabu”.

It was also confirmed that the church of Valdez in Cuyapo town is not among the churches of IFI but of the PICC.

Maxwell Grande, 18, who has lived 7,000 miles away from his mother since he was a child. His mother crossed country for his support and his father was not able to see him. "By the young age I was in my Tito and Tita every time my mother is on abroad " he recalls.

When young people are forced to separate from their parents, their excitement can soon degenerate into shock. One 18-year-old compares it to "someone chucking you in the deep end, because you have to survive." If the split is not their decision they are likely to feel helpless because they are not in control. But after the initial uncertainties they become resilient by necessity.

In a casual interview by Blogger Ma. Era Cecilia Nunag "Papa ko (African) never ko na meet ilang months palang ako, nang ibang bansa na mama ko para sa future ko rin tapos every 2 years contract umuuwi sya dito 2months or 3months nagiistay. Sa mga tita tito ako tumitira. My mom worked at Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Lebanon and ngayon po nasa Saudi sya tapos mama ko na meet father ko sa Malaysia." Maxwell said.

Maxwell has no siblings, despite for being broken family, he always put himself into the positive side.

This came as 2 unidentified “motornappers” were killed in an armed encounter with the police while fleeing with a stolen motorcycle at Barangay Binauganan around 3:30 in the morning yesterday.

This was disclosed by PSupt Luis Ventura Jr the newly assigned head of the Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) Intelligence Branch.

In his report to TPPO Director PSSupt Ritchie Medardo Posadas, Ventura said the 2 motornappers were chased by his police intelligence personnel after receiving report that a Honda RS 125 color Black and Gray was stolen at Barangay Paraiso.

“Hinabol sila mula Mac Arthur Highway pero nang abutan sila sa by-pass road (Brgy Binauganan) pinutukan nila ang ating mga operatiba. Doon sila nagkamali, dahil mas sanay bumaril ang ating mga pulis”, said Ventura.

This city was recently plague by several reports of motornapping which a police source say were committed “most probably by drug addicts and pushers”.

As of this writing, the 2 remained unidentified and their bodies were brought at the Lotus Memorial Homes here.

One of the slain motornappers was described as “male, around 5’6” in height, medium built, around 25 to 28 years old and wearing white shirt and denim short pants, and has black bonnet”.

While the other is “around 30 to 35 years, more or less, 5’ 2”, in black shirt and maong short pants”.
An unmarked .38 caliber pistol with 3 live bullets and 2 spent shells and a homemade .22 caliber revolver with 6 spent shells and 1 live ammo were recovered at the crime scene by the Tarlac Police Crime Laboratory office SOCO.

Three plastic sachets of shabu were also found from the pocket of one of the slain motornappers.

An addict priest?
By: Central Luzon News Center | Nelson Bolos

This came as a priest, along with 2 others, were arrested in a buy bust operation at Barangay Poblacion Norte in Paniqui, Tarlac.

In his report, PSupt Joel Mendoza identified those arrested as Randy Valdez, 35, of District 1, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Mike Raven Quinto y Puyaoan, 20, of Barangay Poblacion Sur, and Camille Franilla, 23, of Barangay Poblacion Norte, here.

Valdez, who is a native of this town, is the destined priest of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI), more commonly known as the Aglipayan Church, in Cuyapo town.

“When we accosted Valdez along with the 2 other suspects, I thought he (Valdez) was joking, or either high on drugs, when he introduced himself as a priest. But it turned out to be true, he is a priest of the Aglipayan church ”, Mendoza said.

Mendoza also said, “the target of our entrapment were Camille (Franilla) and Quinto who are both on our Municipal Watchlist of Drug Personalities. It was Camille who received the P500 marked money from my policeman poseur buyer but it was this person (Valdez) who handed the 2 plastic sachets of shabu. That’s why we arrested them”.

The 20-year old Quinto, whose maternal name is Puyaoan his 3 kins of which are known to be actively involved in illegal drugs, yielded 5 plastic sachets of shabu.

While the 23-year old Camille disclosed that she already has 5 children and that it was her second time to be arrested for illegal drugs. Camille admitted that she is the common law wife of Jojo Salvador who was killed in a bungled police buy-bust 2 years.

Sought for comment, Valdez said, “Nagsimula akong gumamit (ng shabu) bago pa ako pumasok sa pagpapari. (Mula noon) hindi ko (na) mapigil ang sarili ko na gumamit (ng shabu)”.
Valdez also disclosed that priesthood of the Aglipayan church takes 5 to 8 years studies depending on the course chosen.

He, however, refused to comment on how his “flock” of Aglipayan church members will react upon knowing that their priest is using illegal drugs.
“Talagang ang paggamit ng shabu ay nakakasira ng isip at pagkatao. Pati paniniwala sa Diyos mawawala”, also said Mendoza.

“ Being a priest, Valdez can fall under the category of “newly discovered High Value Target (HVT)”, Mendoza added.

This story will make you proud of!

TTKK Featured Blog #1 By: Ma. Era Cecilia Nunag

Netizen Mark Aguirre, shared a public Facebook post—"Back when I was in high school, I got bullied a lot. And i mean a LOT. Isang rason why is because my mom is a meat vendor." containing his metamorphosis from being bullied a lot before to a certified degree holder.

That post has trended all over social media, with over 11K likes, 2.5K shares, and 500 comments as of writing.

" A little Backstory...

As a kid they lived off of junks. Their family was raised gamit ang mga bakal bote at kalakal. My mom has no college degree. Hanggang 1st yr college lang siya. She married my father. They made 3 kids. Father left. Mom's alone. Mom's alone with 3 kids. Mom who has no college degree was left with 3 kids.

She had no choice but to raise us on her own. She probably had no idea at first how. *Pero she found this job sa palengke. She would assist the business owner until nakaipon siya and umupa ng sarili niyang pwesto. Now she owned 3 of her own.

Nung HS im not gonna lie Im embarassed sabihin kung ano kinabubuhay namin. Maybe because I know ill get bullied. Bata palang ako kaya ganon ako at sila magisip. But honestly i think it's the most respectable job anyone could get. She would wake up at 3am kasi aayusin pa niya ang supply, she'll meet clients(suki), she'll do the actual selling, then at the end of the day magaaccounting pa yan para makita ilan ba tinubo. She may not have a college degree, but oh boy lemme tell you what she has, she has the heart to fight all the impossible and make miracles happen everyday.

Fast forward.

She paid for my entire college, i graduated in UST
She's paying my lil sister's college and all expenses at San Beda
And yung bunso is nagaaral ng junior high sa isa sa pinakamamahaling school sa tarlac, montessori.
(im not bragging. Just trying to give you guys a context. We dont care about money honestly hindi po kami tutyal)

If i could go back to HS, I wont mind getting bullied nang dahil dito, because my mom isn't just a meat vendor. She's a superwoman."

She is, by definition, a SAVAGE."
